This myth runs deep and burns bright. Legend of the Dragons of Zynth was buzzing before we were born but it took special alignment of the sun, moon and stars to bring them into being in this dimension. We here at dublab were lucky enough to catch the flashing into reality of DOZ. Our crystals and reflective mirrors were perfectly in place to beam their essence into an electric image viewing chamber. How you wonder did we also manage to record the majestic sound of the Dragons of Zynth? Well that’s another story, one filled with microphones and bravery. an apology and explanation…

We know saw the title above, “Speakers live on dublab,” and dropped your cup of mint tea on your computer keyboard and ran fleeing from your home as the liquid dripped across your desk fizzling your precious nerd gear into a pile of melted plastic and smoke. Once you got halfway down the block you finally realized that we didn’t mean speakers had come alive and started ravaging our lovely planet Earth with violent sound. This is actually a kinder gentler type of live happening. The Catalog Records band Speakers cruised down to dublab for a lovely live set of the best kind of boom. So turn those speakers up loud and listen close because maybe someday they WILL come alive be so happy you shared some super music with/through them.

The Tartans visited dublab and played an incredible session full of super songs. Their music is reminiscent of bands like Orange Juice, Aztec Camera, The Pastels and the Dolly Mixture but with their own very exuberant sound energy.

This is a sound to set your pants on fire! Howlin’ Rain rocketed through a searing set of heavy tunes in the dublab studio. These songs will send one of your ears crashing in the California surf while the other bubbles up from murky southern swamps. “My art for the Gaslamp Killer mix was inspired by Theo Jemison’s photograph of The GLK’s face, combined with his music and personality. The GLK is into dark and psychedelic sounds, so that, combined with his name, called for a hippie/horror salad tossed with a blood vinaigrette. The flavor was only enhanced by the Gaslamp Killer’s more sinister personal look, having shaved his dreads and grown an unruly beard and sideburns combo worthy of the most savage maniacs. You must wade through boiling pools of blood to get to the promised land, but the journey the Gaslamp Killer takes you on is all part of the destination.” - Shepard Fairey
