Ale plays the obscure gems your ears have always craved but never come across. “Elevation through Sound” provides lucky listeners with a journey through the full sound spectrum. He’s also well known as the creative light behind the band Languis, Psychic Powers and Pharaohs and you’re sure to hear occasional rarities and sneak peeks from those projects. This week’s program features special guest Domenic Priore exploring the sound of Los Angeles from the mid 60s.

Steppenwolf’s enigmatic original bass player, Rushton Moreve, co-wrote Magic Carpet Ride. growing up in LA he was quite fond Pacific Ocean Park at Santa Monica beach and especially loved a ride called The Magic Carpet. his family said “One of his favorite places growing up was Pacific Ocean Park, the amusement part of Venice pier in Venice, CA. He was almost obsessed with his favorite ride, so, take for that what you will…” The Magic Carpet was a suspended flying car ride, much like the Peter Pan Flight at Disneyland. The flying carpets had canopies with a track attached above. it was a dark ride flying over the streets of ancient Baghdad through scenes from fairy tales including an immense giant from Jack and the Beanstalk, plus the treasure room from Ali Baba where the thieves peeked out from hiding places in large clay jars.
