Eva Aguila is a multidisciplinary artist and organizer from Los Angeles, CA. Aguila’s artistic background includes sound, performance, video, and documentary filmmaking. In 2005 she started her solo noise project as Kevin Shields. She has toured extensively throughout Europe, the US, and Asia, and Mexico. In 2010 she decided to go by her own name Eva Aguila. In the most current iteration of sound, she has been using module synthesizers to create dynamic meditative sounds. Eva Aguila is also co-founder and Director of Coaxial Arts Foundation, an artist-run non-profit space dedicated to experimental sound, video and performance art located in downtown LA. Aguila co-created Coaxial as a way to further the community of sound and media art in LA, as well as foster the community itself. Her passion for grassroots organizing started as a need to uplift underrepresented art communities. Inspired by the in-between and structuralist techniques, her work most recently is informed by the oral histories and Mexican diaspora of rural communities of Michoacan where her parents and family are from.

She is resident visualist for music series Perpetual Dawn, and provides live visuals and installation work for various shows, music nights and art happenings around Los Angeles.
