Callie’s weekly dublab program, Cuts 01, is an enmeshment of carefully curated sonic selections which evoke, mimic and pay homage to bodily systems and emotions felt and created in the gut. Using field recordings and evocative samples Callie chooses the contents of her show by selecting cross genre compositions which have the unifying intention of acknowledging, honoring and exploring both emotional and physical comforts and challenges alike through the dynamic and fluid medium of sound and voice.

Callie Ryan is a Los Angeles based experimental electronic musician, vocalist, and DJ who creates textured compositions with a vulnerable and intentional foundation whilst aiming to invoke feelings of tenderness and self-reflection.

Through discussion and live performance we will delve into the intersection of black maternity and intuitive sound practice as a form of activism, resilience, softness, and strength.
