adieu
03.20.24

Dan Arnés, a filmmaker and composer from Brooklyn, NY, presents “adieu,” an eclectic, cinematic mix exploring the age-old theme of heartbreak through a blend of leftfield pop, experimental, ambient, R&B, jazz, soul, film and anime soundtracks, and more. This stream of consciousness sonic narrative weaves listeners through a surreal, immersive soundscape, evoking imagery of the dead of winter, out at sea, lost and set adrift, as motifs of melancholic jazz piano and oceanic textures gradually blur into dissonance and, ultimately, into expressionistic abstraction. Through experimental sound design and compositional editorial techniques, Arnés crafts a cohesive and immersive experience that rewards attentive listening, uniting diverse tracks into a singular, emotionally resonant journey.
