Loops + Dots
05.07.19

A monthly audio adventure in leftfield beats, electronic soul, and experimental sounds. Expect to hear a curated mix of brand new tracks, deep cut throwbacks, conversations with today’s most innovative musicians, and guest DJ sets live in studio.
The sixth installment of my Loops + Dots radio show on Dublab aired brand new sonic greatness from Sweatson Klank, Travis Stewart (aka Machinedrum) and Jimmy Edgar’s project J-E-T-S, Kazu Makino (from Blonde Redhead)’s new solo venture Kazu, and Phoenix rave-ready producer JohnLukeIRL.
This week we also welcomed Machinedrum to the studio to take us through the #SixSongScenario, where artists, DJs, and music aficionados tell the story behind their favorite tracks and explain what these songs mean to them.
Travis and I talked about playing air guitar as a kid while wearing a t-shirt over your head and strumming a GI Joe fighter jet along to Metallica, the beat science of Autechre, Jamwar parties in the LES, his new label IAMSIAM, and the storytelling of Johnny Cash. Loops + Dots also had the honor of playing an unreleased Machinedrum track!
Here’s the A-Z of everything we played, from Autechre to Zoospa.
