Loops + Dots
05.30.19

The eighth installment of my Loops + Dots radio show on Dublab aired brand new heat from Innovative Leisure’s Jonah Yano & Nono, LA musician Jacob Mann, Brownswood’s Skinny Pelembe, and Stones Throw’s Mndsgn.
This week we also welcomed Stones Throw artist and musician Kiefer to the studio to take us through the #SixSongScenario, where artists, DJs, and music aficionados tell the story behind their favorite tracks and explain what these songs mean to them.
Kiefer and I talked about shoutouts from Pete Rock, European apple juice, Sonny Clark, Nirvana, Robert Glasper, Mulgrew Miller, finding beats in the pre-Spotify era via CDs from Amazon, and how Joni Mitchell never lies.
We also played some UNRELEASED Kiefer joints including a Dilla cover with Jonah Levine!
Here’s how we kicked it together.
