On today’s edition of the show, Darone invites Riti. Riti is a wildstyle DJ and selector based out of Austin, Texas. She carries an eclectic bag traversing wide musical (and emotional) terrain – synthpop, balearic, jazz, electro, new wave, and beyond. Riti also draws inspiration from old Hindi and Urdu melodies that soundtracked her childhood and sparked a lifelong love for music. From the Texas Triangle to the high West Texas Desert, Riti has played for dancefloors across the state (and a bit beyond state lines as well). Her DJ sets drift freely – and at times haphazardly – through genres, however the underlying impulse remains the same: to reach for “something” beyond the limits of daily life.
