By 2002, Ghostly’s Matthew Dear had only released three singles, each in the realm of techno/house. Years later, Dear would transition into more of a pop/indie electronic sound, maintaining elements of his earlier dance music while pushing himself into a kind of sexy, droney songwriting.
On this session from the summer of ’02, the young producer steered dublab listeners down his own tech-house pathway, a Detroit of the mind that’s part minimal techno, part acid house and all Matthew Dear.
