This time around, Frosty welcomes composer Maxwell Sterling onto the program to share a guest mix and talk about his incredible new album Laced With Rumour: Loud-Speaker Of Truth.

Maxwell Sterling is a composer, producer, performer and artist. Originally from Manchester, Maxwell has formally studied jazz composition and double bass at Leeds College of music, and film scoring at UCLA Extension. During his 5 years stay in LA, Maxwell has worked on numerous projects and noticeably scored films ‘A Girl Like Grace’, ‘Investigation 13’ and ‘Chicanery’. His musical style ranges from improvised jazz to classical, left-field electronic to minimal, always taking lead from the narrative.

Now back in the UK and based in London, Maxwell has finished working on the follow up of his debut record ‘Hollywood Medieval’ released on Manchester based label The Death Of Rave, this upcoming album is scheduled for release in Autumn 2020.

Ecstatic Recordings, helmed by Alessio Natalizia (Not Waving), has just released a piece composed by Maxwell and originally commissioned by Nottingham Contemporary in 2018 as part of the exhibition ‘House Of Fame: Convened By Linder’ – called ‘Laced With Rumour: Loud-Speaker Of Truth’, this piece is dedicated to the art and music of Don & Moki Cherry and their family.

Musically, he has worked with the likes of: Leslie Winer, Neneh Cherry, Kenichi Iwasa, Daniela Lalita, Adult Jazz, James Ferraro and Barry Adamson. Besides collaborations in music, Maxwell has also worked with visual artists and fashion designers such as: Linder, Friedrich Kunath, Tai Shani, Florence Peake, Christopher Shannon, Louise Gray, JW Anderson and Nick Knight. With over 30 film score credits too, he has worked with a variety of directors and other composers: Ty Hodges, Ivan Olita, Meredith Lackey, Matthias Weber, Nima Fakhrara and Jokes Yanes.
