abyeux.tech - guest session

This show, hosted by EUPHORIA guitarist, Ken Ramm showcases the major paradigm shift in film and television with the use of the popular song as a scoring device.

An augmentation in focus was led by directors and producers as varied as Stanley Kubrick, Taika Waititi, Jerry Bruckheimer, Quentin Tarantino, John Hughes, David Chase, Jordan Peele, Sam Mendes, Edgar Wright, Martin Scorcese and others. Combined with music supervisors, actors and recording artists, these forces helped to create a sonic palette that complimented traditional film scoring. While popular song was often used in films as a teaser, the dramatic shift, into the somewhat controversial role of the music supervisor, is leaving an indelible mark on the music landscape of film, television and even advertising.

Join us, for a varied two hour show that embraces a history of popular music, from the 17th century to the 21st century, contemporary and classical, tied to the visual mediums.
