Interview with Melissa Acedera (KTown4All), Hamid Khan (Stop LAPD Spying), and Nadia Khan (Stop LAPD Spying)

Melissa Acedera is an L.A. native whose work is centered on bridging food justice and homelessness issues in the Los Angeles area. With 13 years of experience in food and beverage government compliance, and 4 years of grassroots organizing and non-profit consulting in public health and food justice, Melissa has special insight into the many systems at play in food and housing justice.

Melissa is a member of Ktown for All and the founder of Polo’s Pantry, a mobile food pantry serving organizations across the City fighting for the rights of unhoused residents while supporting their needs through outreach and advocacy. Through Polo’s Pantry, Melissa has worked with LA CAN in Skid Row every Sunday since the COVID-19 pandemic began, providing 250-300 meals to unhoused folks every Sunday for the last 12 weeks.

Nadia Khan is an organizer at Stop LAPD Spying Coalition. Nadia is a community member, daughter, parent, high school teacher, student, friend, lover, family member and fighter for human rights. She is Queer, Femme, Multiracial and is constantly working to build power with the various communities she is a part of to imagine and create spaces of true community safety and support, while working to abolish/dismantle the various systems of oppression that exist.

Hamid Khan is the Campaign Coordinator at Stop LAPD Spying Coalition.
