NO ONE TURNED AWAY
04.16.26

NO ONE TURNED AWAY is a bi-monthly show that documents the human spirit of all ages DIY movement organizing, the interdependent arts spaces that we’ve called home, and our friends that steward these moments of collective self-determination. What urges us to devote our lives to this, which lessons have we hopefully learned along the way, and how can we pass down our loving labor to the coming generations of punks, lifers, and anarchic daydreamers? Let’s try and find out together.
Welcome to EPISODE FIVE of NO ONE TURNED AWAY, a bimonthly radio show on dublab exploring the lore, legacies, and ontological mutiny of interdependent and diy arts communities.
Throughout this series we’ll check in with some of the devoted spirits that steward their scenes and to set the tone with us this evening is one of LA’s legendary lifers, Sam Farzin.
For the next hour we’re diving into Sam’s formative journeys including booking shows in the classrooms of UC Irvine, running a label, and organizing Open Melody Festival earlier this month at 2220 Arts featuring Deerhoof, Lightning Bolt, OOIOO, and soooo many incredible artists.
