Apiento (aka Paul Byrne) is a DJ and producer who plays music from across the board. His sets span downtempo, dub, Balearic, house, and techno. In 2008 he founded Test Pressing a platform to share music that he loved, with reviews, mixes from friends and family and old scanned articles about dance culture. Since then Test Pressing has grown into a record label and more. Paul grew up on dance music after discovering the electro sound in ’84 by the age of 18 he was working at record labels with the likes of Underworld and Black Dog. Over the years he has made beats with Switch for M.I.A, worked on Strange Cargo albums with William Orbit and he now collaborates with Andrew Hale from Sade as Open Space as well as releasing his own solo music (see ‘Things You Do For Love’) under his Apiento moniker. He plays at clubs and festivals worldwide.
