Sunday January 11, 2026
10:00 PM to 12:00 AM

Between South and North America, the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, exists an isthmus made up of seven countries, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Belize, also known as Central America. Escuchar al Istmo, Listen to the Isthmus, focuses on the diverse musical and cultural landscape of Central America. Through music, vinyl record collections and special guests, the show explores cultural context, nostalgia and experiences of the diaspora. Tune in to hear the past and present sounds of the many cultures of Central America.
This episode features a curated set from TRESX and a short interview discussing their Honduran upbringing, inspiration behind their sonic practice and archival projects, Cinco Estrellas and Rebane Récords. Tune in for another episode sharing the sounds and stories from the Central American diaspora.
TRESX is a trans/disciplinary artist & memory worker from San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Their creative practice spans sonic experimentation, archival work, and queer study, influenced and shaped by Central American life. TRESX constructs sonic landscapes that evoke memories beyond the visual archive, incorporating found audio clips and oral histories into their audio production. They founded and steward two community-based archival projects, “Cinco Estrellas” and “Rebane Récords,” dedicated to the preservation of Honduran cultural memory and the sonic lineages of Honduras, the Bay Islands and their diasporas, respectively.
