Widely known as a poet and a writer Alain Mabanckou is also a music producer. He produced two albums of the band Black Bazar that were released on the world music label Lusafrica. For this session he meets with Samuel Lamontagne to talk about Congolese music, mainly about the Congolese Rumba, Soukous and Ndombolo genres. They also talk about the relation between music and poetry and the new generation of Congolese musicians in France.
Samuel Lamontagne is an Afropean author. While getting a Ph.D. in ethnomusicology at UCLA, his researches focus on musical cultures and histories of the city of Los Angeles.
