Taiwan Mix For Vinyl Uncle pt. 4: Teardrops of Love
09.12.25

This mix series traces Angie QQ’s journey of grief, memory, and discovery through Taiwanese vinyl culture. After moving to Taiwan in 2019, she began collecting rare folk and pop records from flea markets and small shops, guided by the mentorship and friendship of “Vinyl Uncle,” a local collector whose passion for music left a lasting mark on her. Their bond—formed over tea, rooftop record digs, and a shared reverence for sound—became the foundation of her collection.
When Vinyl Uncle passed away in 2024, only his records remained. To honor his memory, Angie partnered with dublab to preserve and archive a portion of the collection she built in Taiwan. With the dedicated support of Rachel Day, Sophie Behzadi, and Jenn Zelmer, her records have been digitized and its artwork documented. Through these mixes, Vinyl Uncle lives on—reincarnated as melody.
