(very rare)

Inspired by my guest, recent compilations from Heads Know (NYC) and No Bias (Oakland) and the return of Dweller (NYC), this week’s episode of (very rare) celebrates contemporary, underground dance music from across the United States. Despite, and in response to, a fascistic regime and the brutal conditions of late stage capitalism, artists, labels and collectives continue popping up and innovating across sub-genres.
For the first hour, I’ll takes you across the country celebrating some of my favorite raw, underground, and uniquely American, dance music of the last 5 years. The second hour, (very rare) welcomes Jersey club innovator TAH for a guest mix. TAH’s 2024 mixtape 30 Lessons is a timeless, yet fresh, distillation of the past, present and future of Jersey/Baltimore club music. In my opinion, it is one of the strongest bodies of work in dance music in recent memory. I recently caught him at Homage Brewery and was inspired to invite him on the show. TAH is (very rare)!
