Hosted by DJ and cultural steward Ashley Younniä, the show unfolds as a soundscape of musical lineage and inheritance. Each episode reflects on the idea that none of us arrive to music alone. Our taste, our sound, and our voices are shaped by the people and places that introduced us to music in the first place.

The inaugural episode of Children of the Sound Radio opens a portal to listen and remember. Through intimate excerpts of a conversation with my grandmother, we journey through the artists and songs that carried her through life’s most tender and difficult moments. Woven with selections of gospel & soul and reflections on my own upbringing with her, this episode invites listeners to remember the sounds that raised them and to reconnect with the stories held within them.
