Certified Jesus Freak is an up-and-coming DJ raised in North Carolina and currently residing in New Jersey. She views the act of DJing as both an exploration of culture and the practice of creating/hosting a “post-third space”: collective gatherings that are a little spiritual, a little physical, a little hedonistic, and all about the movement to the music. They seek to share and partake of the sonic cultures in the music they spin through extensive research into past histories of genres (most often Jersey club, house, jungle, and garage), connect with contemporaries who innovate in and drive those same genres forward today, and operate within the theory that these genres can be near-seamlessly intertwined on the decks.

Black Audio Society is a collective effort lead by Gum.mp3 for the conservation and enjoyment of black music. The aim is to identify sociopolitical context, analyze the development and mixture of genres over time, and imagine the future of black music in both theory and practice. Through guest mixes and periodic deep dives into the history of this music, B.A.S. serves as an alternative destination for black music discovery and appreciation.
