FUTURE FREQUENCIES is a residency from DJ, Producer, Ninja Tune A&R and SOS Music Co-founder, Maddy Maia.
Leaning in to her A&R roots, Maddy’s show provides a platform to showcase new leftfield electronic music from all corners of the globe spanning everything from ambient to house, breaks, techno and everything in between. FUTURE FREQUENCIES is all about elevating up and coming dance producers.
For this month’s instalment of FUTURE FREQUENCIES, Maddy has invited SOS Music’s hottest new signing, Cherry Lee, for a full takeover, who’s debut EP ‘Popped’ was released last month. Joining her for the second hour to turn up the heat is MJ Hall.
Raised in the cultural swirl of Los Angeles and shaped by the city’s underground scenes, Cherry’s sound is a fusion of global influences, irresistible grooves, and a deep-rooted commitment to community and connection.
With Popped, Cherry introduces herself through three distinct tracks that each reflect a facet of her artistic ethos: celebration, remembrance, and spiritual play.
MJ Hall, the Mississippi-born, NYC/LA based DJ/producer has made a name for himself across multiple genres with an impressive portfolio including collaborations with renowned artists like Nicki Minaj, Jamar Rogers, Lil Wayne, Life On Planets, Bobby Valentino, and Nicole Moudaber. Beyond his professional work, Hall lends his time to the Lower East Side Girls Club, teaching music production to girls and gender-diverse youth.
