B.A.S. is a collective effort lead by Dirty Bird to evaluate the genealogy of black music.
Dazegxd grew up listening to video game soundtracks, so it’s no surprise their interpretation of dance music is both eccentric and climactic. The moment they got Magix Music Maker on their tablet at 10 years old marked Dazegxd officially as an artist. And their passion for production only grew when they got their first computer a year later and downloaded FL Studio. Now making beats from their Brooklyn bedroom, Dazegxd is spearheading the DIY dance music movement through live events, an abundance of new releases, and a leading role at aritst collective and record label, Eldia. Through Dazegxd’s variety of ventures and collaborations, they hope to introduce people to the jungle, drum n bass, and house music, as well as contribute to the genres as much as they’ve impacted him.
To date, the producer-DJ has played a sold-out show at The Sultan Room as direct support for Bad Tuner, opened for ericdoa and juno at The Bowery Ballroom, and continues to spin across the US with frequent collaborators Dirty Bird and Swami Sound. Dazegxd’s recently-released record, vKiSS, is also set to be a 2022 album of the year favorite among longtime listeners and esteemed music critics. Pitchfork writes that Dazegxd “melds a variety of different electronic subgenres into a bright and tender sound” and The FADER adds, “The New York-based producer and DJ’s playful approach prioritizes fluidity and vibrancy.”
