Founded in 2005 by writer Jeff Weiss (The Ringer, Washington Post, GQ), POW is the last rap blog — one of the the first nationally to write about Kendrick Lamar, Danny Brown, Drakeo, 03 Greedo, and many others. In 2016, it birthed the label, POW Recordings, releasing albums from Chester Watson, Kent Loon, Fatboi Sharif, Rhys Langston, Gabe ‘Nandez, Ness Nite, Pioneer 11, The Outfit TX, Vince Ash, and Zilla Rocca.

The radio show is an extension of this far-flung sound, boasting guest mixes from the rotating cast of POW contributors that span Latin boogaloo to Soviet Jazz to West Coast street rap.

This month’s episode is guest hosted by Dewey Bryan and Earoh.

DEWEY BRYAN

Dewey Bryan emerges with Beach Burners, a sun-soaked, genre-bending debut album produced entirely by Los Angeles collaborator Earoh. Blending boom-bap, yacht rock, smoked-out soul, and surreal storytelling, the record introduces a fully-formed world built on rhythm, mystique, and California haze. Equal parts concept album and lifestyle manifesto, Beach Burners marks the arrival of a multidimensional artist who’s spent years crafting his sound, sharpening his pen, and designing his universe. Released via Surf Art Records and supported by a full ecosystem of visuals, zines, merch, and events, Beach Burners isn’t just an album—it’s the beginning of a movement.

EAROH

Los Angeles, California’s Earoh (Everything A Reflection of Home) is nothing short of a prodigy with his abilities stretching into deejaying, executive producing, battling and more. Before this man even hit Middle School, he was deejaying, studying those that laid out the path and making a name for himself in the Minnesota circuit. Earoh’s willingness to immerse himself in the art as a whole regardless of the medium makes his creations whether solo or for collaboration a one-of-a-kind experience that transcends sound. “I have a strict “use everything policy with art,” Earoh explains, “I love to read books, watch movies, go to art shows….commercials suddenly become intro samples, photos get flipped and rescanned, quotes get chopped up and reorganized to make fresh messages.” Now here in 2025, Earoh’s got everything from beat tapes, full-length albums and a list of collaborators over the years and is getting prepared for his biggest endeavor yet…Surf Art Records. There’s lots to talk about in regards to what’s to come, for now let’s discuss how Earoh got into your speakers to begin with.
