On October 3rd, 2020, dublab celebrated 21 years of community powered radio with a 24 hour online event, featuring DJ sets and live performances. Longtime resident DJ Al Jackson put together this special anniversary mix.

DJ Al Jackson is a Los Angeles based deejay/producer and a founding member of the Soul Children Collective. This son of a jazz musician is dedicated to bridge the gap between hip hop and jazz. If DJ Al Jackson can be described in one word that word would be “versatile” as he is often praised for his musical versatility on the turntables as well as his seamless and genre-blending live mixes. The great thing about his versatility is that it gives him the freedom to spin in a variety of settings regardless of musical genres. If there is anything that you need to know musically about Al Jackson, know that your ears won’t be disappointed.
Al Jackson has his own music production company called Sincerebeats where he produces music under the Aljax3 moniker. He is also a member of the music production team called the Trilaterals.

He has been nominated for a LA Weekly Music Award. He has been nominated twice for a NAACP Theater Award and even had the fortune of winning the prestigious theater award in the “Best Musical Score“ category for the play Weights.

Over the years, Al has had the pleasure of opening up for such deejay notables as Tony Touch, Rich Medina and Dj Spinna just to name a few.
