Appolonia Chukwu, professionally known as DJ BAD APPLE, is a dynamic Black Nigerian-American DJ, Music Supervisor, Songwriter, Scholar, and emerging Music Producer in Austin, Texas. Known for her electric stage presence, BAD APPLE’s sets are grounded in different shades of house and techno music that seamlessly weave in and out of disco, pop, Hip Hop, and Afro beat influences.

BAD APPLE has performed at Seismic Dance Event, a boutique house and techno festival held at The Concourse Project, a top ranking venue in the U.S. and globally. Her career thus far has been a showcase of her artistry, with performances at Formula 1 Grand Prix, DJ MAG, South by Southwest (SXSW), Nike, Stubbs Amphitheater, ACL Live, fashion shows and more. Her performance opening for Thundercat at the iconic Aztec Theater is particularly noteworthy, where she effectively set the vibe and hyped up the crowd, leaving a lasting impression on both attendees and industry professionals.

As a Black woman in music, BAD APPLE has carved a distinct space, supporting acts like Aluna, DJ Holographic, TSHA, Trixie Mattel, LSDXOXO, Zebra Katz, Equiss (OSSX), DVSN, Chantor and Nimino. Her work extends beyond the turntable; she’s a vocal advocate for Black Women in music and a pioneer in amplifying minority voices in the industry, notably as Resident Advisor’s first City Manager of Austin. Appolonia’s blend of art and activism forges connections and community, embodying the essence of a modern artist and change-maker.
