Optical Track is a weekly show presented by members of the Echo Park Film Center Co-op, a group of artists who collectively staff EPFC as volunteers for the cinematic revolution. Each week features a sonic slideshow as we turn off the projector bulbs and turn up the sound.

Tonight we deep dive into the cinema classic Ascenseur pour l’échafaud aka Elevator to the Gallows 1958 directed by Louis Malle featuring music by Miles Davis. Tonight’s show features text from the New Wave Film by S. Hitchman and excerpts from Miles Goes Modal with musician John Faddis and historian Gary Giddins and of course music from the master Miles Davis. Also included an interview with Malle from 1958 for French television & insight and commentary by our collective’s own Paolo Davanzo.
