Founded in 2019 as a radio show and online platform, Dub & Effection (D&E) is a project of Guyanese-American DJ and Dub-Stuy member EDICA+ that sheds a light on everything Sound System Culture, music and art.

Riffing on the expression “Love & Affection”, D&E focuses on the appreciation for the foundation of Dub Music – the sound, the production techniques, the equipment – and its connection to modern dance music such as Bass, Deep Dubstep, Downtempo, and other forms of experimental Electronica. All for the Love of Dub!

In this unique edition of Dub & Effection, recorded live from Ace Hotel Brooklyn as part of Dub-Stuy’s “Hi-Fi to the People” residency, EDICA+ invites crew member JonnyGo Figure and special guest Icky Magdala (Montreal) to share melodies that sparked their deepest affections. The trio unveils a carefully curated playlist and delves into the heart of their personal connections to the music.
