Serenata de Trios is a radio program on KXLU featuring boleros from the 50s and 60s played by artists from all corners of Latin America. Often I would end shows with records that featured orchestras and crooning lead singers, as opposed to the usual trilling acoustic guitars and three-part harmonies. On this mix I give full billing to this sound, harkening back to days when lovers and friends would dress up for a night on the town to enjoy live music.
