Germany’s Boozoo Bajou sound like few other dub acts, but their shared roots are clear. This peace-inducing 90-minute mix from ’03 features the duo hanging out in LA a week before the invasion of Baghdad, something they were explicit about, offering listeners well-chilled indie cuts from the likes of Spiritualized, Primal Scream, Paul Weller and Cowboy Junkies along with downtempo beats from producers like DJ Vadim and Soulquarians.
The set dives deep into a cool chamber of dub echoes with Jackie Mittoo, Wayne Jarrett, Congos and Rhythm & Sound. Boozoo Bajou’s own rainy day dubs manage to join the easygoing echo chamber as well.
