Cécille Schott aka Colleen seems to exist within her very own sound environment, almost her own genre, playing cello and other traditional instruments through looping pedals and other effects to express herself in delicate layers of sound that express an emotionally complex inner world.

In one of a handful of terrific dublab appearances, Schott jumped into DJ mode for this 2005 set, sharing some lovely selections with us. The mix morphs from genre to genre, beginning with gamelan, and a half-hour of incredible work from other feminine artists in the same vein as Colleen, before moving into of hip-hop, soul and dub-reggae for a strong finish.
