A thoughtful mix for cloudy days from an inventive composer of ambient folk and classical music.
On this excellent mix from Cécile Schott aka Colleen, we’re allowed into Schott’s singular world as she selects sounds that speak to the many components of her work: the baroque, chanson, the avant-garde, indie, forms of acoustic instrumentation like cool jazz, and more.
Schott has visited dublab for many a session over the years; this is one of her best outings as a DJ. The result is mostly calming, yet punctuated with emotion — at times sharp and dramatic, at others faint or indistinct.
