We started Objects & Sounds with a humble mission of inspiring a different yet more intuitive way of discovering and enjoying music. More than just sharing objects & sounds we love, it’s a meaningful way for us to connect, create and collaborate with kindred spirits, as well as share the stories of the artists, creatives, labels and makers that continue to inspire us day in, day out.
A little text on our mix inspiration for Celsius Drop:
Brian Eno was once asked in an interview why religious music seems to have such an enormous level of intensity and passion that’s hard to find in other music. He shared that artists who make or perform religious music are able to fully surrender themselves completely to the craft, as they are not making music purely for themselves, but rather to receive something from outside of them.
This one-hour mix is inspired by this theme of unconditional surrender. We selected music where we felt the artists really surrendered themselves fully to their music and let go of all control, whether or not it serves a religious or spiritual purpose.
