Celsius Drop
09.14.98

Frosty launched this Celsius Drop radio program in the mid-1990s, at the University of Southern California’s student radio station KSCR 104.7fm (now KXSC), a breeding ground for many of the ideas and stretched sonic aesthetics that would later inform dublab’s creation.
On this episode of Celsius Drop, the KSCR studio was occupied by the Odditorium crew featuring Phoenix Orion, Daddy Kev, Hive and Hermes. With four turntables, live synths and endless mic chatter, the show sounds like a frenetic version of Art Bell’s paranormal radio show crossing frequencies with a London pirate radio signal bounced back from a distant moon.
dublab founding DJs Deadkids (aka Derelict) and Daedelus were also in the house so the spirit was high and the blueprints were being formed!
