The sonic pioneer producer and DJ hailing from Chicago known as Heavee, stands as a musical maverick known for weaving footwork rhythms into avant-garde brilliance. Their ‘Audio Assault’ EP on Hyperdub is a testament to their unique sonic identity, drawing from a rich tapestry of musical influences.
Collaborating with luminaries like Sinjin Hawke, Zora Jones, Suzi Analogue, and Jimmy Edgar, Heavee’s influence transcends genres. Noteworthy remixes include tracks by Kelela, Getoverhernyc, Big Dipper, Cakes Da Killa, Khx05, and more, showcasing their knack for elevating existing compositions and transforming them into something truly extraordinary.
Heavee’s musical odyssey gained momentum with ‘It’s Wack,’ their co-production with the late DJ Rashad, featured on Grand Theft Auto V’s Flylo FM. This marked the fusion of their footwork rhythms with the virtual realm, paying tribute to their mentor’s legacy.
As a member and label artist to the Teklife Collective, Hyperdub Records, and NeverNormal Sound system, Heavee’s impact spans borders. Their collaborative ventures extend beyond music, exemplifying their dynamic artistic range.
