Version Sounds is an interpretation of radio communication. At its roots, the show credits reggae dub for adding so much to the music we listen to today. From there the branches continue to sprout via a myriad of genres and time spans. Colombian cumbias meet Germanic techno dub meets British twee pop. Stereolab and Sun Ra lounge around as Stars of the Lid jam with Prince Jammy. You never know what to expect but you are guaranteed that the now sounds of 2021 will have a toast with the happening sonics of 1968 and beyond!

I’m a third generation Angeleno from East LA. Music has always been a very important part of my life, like a lot of us, it saved my life. I’ve been in the music scene since 1985 and I’ve been collecting records all my life. I’ve been DJing on and off since 1990. I grew up on classic rock and soul, due to my parents relatives and environment. It was my discovery of KROQ that really opened a whole new world for me. I describe my sets as “an eclectic journey off the beaten path.” It’s a mix of 60’s-90’s Jazz, Soul, Funk, Disco, Rare Groove, and World Sounds. You can catch me spinning around town.
