Yacht Rock en Español
08.30.20

This mix started with Juan asking Ale: “Is there such thing as Yacht Rock in Spanish?” Both longtime music diggers with certain knowledge of the music from Latin America and their home countries of Colombia and Argentina found themselves at a loss. For those not familiar Yacht Rock, it is a genre mostly from the US with its heyday in the 70s and 80s, and known for its smooth rock and adult contemporary sound. After much research, both found out that there really isn’t an established list of artists from Spanish speaking countries that are considered part of this genre. This mix attempts at doing just that. You will find here songs by Julio Iglesias, Luis Miguel, and many others that without even knowing it, have created some all-time Yacht Rock classics en Español.
