The Sound of Healing

The past two years have challenged me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Some bad, some devastating, but a whole lot of good. During that time — thanks to therapy and my inner circle of trusted loved ones — I’ve learned to lean into the moment, appreciate my progress, and not be so fixated on the future. My ambition is still there, I just had to temper the urgency.

On purpose, “The Sound of Healing” is mid-tempo and ascendant, jazz with a pulse yet decidedly reflective. By assembling older and contemporary artists, I also wanted to connect the past and present, showing today’s listeners that the genre is still quite viable. This is the music I play on long drives and walks. It reminds me that while the challenges persist, I recognize the healing and feel things getting better.

With love,
MJM
