Camila Fuchs is formed by Camila de Laborde, Mexico City, and Daniel Hermann-Collini, Munich. Their second album Heart Pressed Between Stones is their most recent work having just come out on ATP Recordings last year. Previously they released Opuntia, Camila´s first solo EP and Singing From Fixed Rung, their debut album, on Schamoni Musik, SVS Records and The Lumen Lake.
They´re an electronic act accompanied by Camilas usually untreated and forward vocals. Their last album, formed by 6 tracks, tends to imply timely topics (“heat waves,”, “weapons,” “manipulation”) and how one responds to them (“panic attacks,” “love,” “going against love”). While de Laborde and Hermann-Collini have said that Heart Pressed Between Stones doesn’t have a specific theme, per se, the work does present a series of ideas that reflect the daily bombardment of our harrowing contemporary news cycle. The sound affirms the lyrical subject matter, both taking the listener through very varied places and energies.
For this dub lab mix they´ve shared their most recent and personal influences. Recent moods, friends music, old and new stuff, and weird tippy electronics.
