Nikki Nair is a producer and DJ now living in Los Angeles, perhaps best known for “Set The Roof,” a collaboration with Hudson Mohawk and Tayla Parx that appeared on year-end lists from Pitchfork and Resident Advisor. His recent album Violence Is The Answer includes yunè pinku, Uffie, Blaketheman1000, and Harmony; Its tracks are replete with Nair’s signature freewheeling sound design — acid house synths, rubbery bass drums, bed frame squeaks in the place of hi-hats. He recently played alongside Four Tet and other notable music people at Under The K Bridge. Nikki likes The Next Generation and Deep Space 9. He does not like The Original Series or Discovery.
