Radio Free Aquarium Drunkard

10.15.23

The veil between worlds is practically see through, it’s Radio Free Aquarium Drunkard on dublab. This month, Chad DePasquale drops in with New Happy Gathering, with a host of avant-autumn drone & spiritual jazz-soul numbers. Then, Jason P. Woodbury’s Range and Basin, featuring soul, jazz rock, synth epics, and vibes. Then Tyler Wilcox arrives with Doom & Gloom from the Tomb, featuring autumnal ambient sounds—mostly from 2023. And to close, Rob Jones of Be With Records shares Telemix, Vol 1.

Back in the deep, bleak, pandemic dog days, Be With Records struck a deal with the legendary Parisian library music catalog, Tele Music to reissue the very best, most sought-after LPs in the catalog. With much of this music now commercially available for the first time, the series of albums recently reissued presents an expansive grip of heavy funk, drama-jazz, deep disco, synth-wave, psych-rock, cosmic soul and beyond.

Be With founder Rob Butler decided to helm a selection of the cream of the Tele Music catalog for this exclusive Aquarium Drunkard mix. Cut live in one take, using all vinyl at Be With’s Manchester HQ, he selected some of Tele Music’s most crucial tracks for an incisive 80 minute DJ mix.
