Sara Kawai is an LA-based DJ, producer, and harp virtuoso who has been a fixture of LA’s indie scene since 2023. Sara’s sets move effortlessly between from sultry R&B/rap edits, enigmatic bailefunk/amapiano sets, and ambient textures laced with harp — her signature instrument. In addition to nationally recognized coveted performances (such as Jimmy Kimmel with Miley Cyrus and Tiny Desk with Audrey Nuna), Sara’s experimental harp-driven and traditional DJ sets are in demand across both the underground circuit (ex. The Lot Radio, Goyo Club, Aura Sounds, ThtGoodSht) and corporate/private performances alike (LACMA, LA Fashion Week, H Lorenzo, Cookies n Kicks, KidSuper, etc.), given her distinctive ability to deliver impeccable sonic ambiance to all types of events.
In addition to growing a cult following through her parties, Sara’s vibrant spirit and remarkable technique have recently landed her producer and instrumental credits with heavy hitters such as Miley Cyrus, Ravyn Lenae, Laufey, UMI, Destin Conrad, and breakout R&B songstress Amaria, who she directly supported on her NA and EU tours this past spring.
