About Music Declares Emergency:

Music Declares Emergency is a group of artists, music industry professionals and organisations that stand together to declare a climate and ecological emergency and call for an immediate governmental response to protect all life on Earth. They believe in the power of music to promote the cultural change needed to create a better future.

Music Declares a Climate and Ecological Emergency

– They call on governments and media institutions to tell the truth about the climate and ecological emergency.

– They call on governments to act now to reverse biodiversity loss and reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by no later than 2030.

– They recognize that the emergency has arisen from global injustices and will work towards systemic change to protect life on Earth.

– They acknowledge the environmental impact of music industry practices and commit to taking urgent action.

They WILL
– Jointly support one another, sharing expertise as a collective industry and community.

– Speak up and out about the climate and ecological emergency.

– Work towards making our businesses ecologically sustainable and regenerative.

About Bye Bye Plastic:

Is a zero-plastic initiative, started by DJ Vivie-ann Bakos of BLOND:ISH. The aim of the scheme is for venus to stop using single-use plastics like straws, cups and bottles. It includes encouraging artists to ask for “eco-riders”at shows and offering promoters a hotline service to get advice on the alternatives to using plastics. Combining brilliant entrepreneurship with environmental activism, Vivie-Ann has continually challenged herself and the music community. Last year BLOND:ISH helmed a ‘sustainable raving’ movement which led to the hugely successful beach clean in Ibiza with locals and environmentalists. Vivie-Ann also appeared on IMS and ADE Green panels to discuss these issues.
