Oral Fixation
03.01.26

Sasha invites queer artists to read from queer texts that helped shape their understanding of identity and lifestyle. This is not limited to poetry, prose, essays, personal writings, or letters. Music acts as a landscape but not the focus of this show. The goal is to expose an audience to new writers, artists, and schools of thought around queer lifestyle.
In the first half of the premiere episode of Oral Fixation, host Sasha Fuentes introduces himself and the initiative of F.A.G. Archive.
He reads from City of God and My Body is Paper by Los Angeles writer Gil Cuadros.
In the second half we are joined by Josh Cheon, owner of Dark Entries records.
He reads from The Butch Manual by Clark Henley and talks about the experience of republishing this out-of-print book, then we play poems from the Dark Entries release, Hot Rod to Hell by Roy Garrett. We also cover his coming-out experience in early 2000s New Jersey/New York and play some songs from that time in his life.
