Originally from Sarajevo, Valida fled a heavily conflicted Bosnia in the mid 90s to pursue higher education in the US. While still at UCLA, she produced “Concentric Beats,” a drum’n’bass documentary film as a part of her MA thesis. After completing her studies, she followed her passion for music to become a freeform DJ who has helmed some of LA’s most beloved parties. Valida is a musician, producer/remixer, a KCRW radio host, and founder of Desert Nights, a live music series. Her genre-bending new EP, Mixed Signals, was released in October 2021
