Billy Creature is the project of Glenn Michael Van Dyke, a Los Angeles–based multi-instrumentalist and audio engineer from Florida whose fascination with sound in space guides their work. After ten years in New York playing in bands like the garage-rock group BOYTOY and touring with artists such as Caroline Rose, Harkin, and Sofia Bolt, Van Dyke returned to Jacksonville to found Winterland, a non-profit music festival born from the belief that the way music scenes are shaped can meaningfully inform and transform local culture. Now based in Los Angeles, they play in the quasi–genre-defying, kraut-ish band Kairos Creature Club and can be found behind the ever-aging Midas Pro 2 at Zebulon.
