Matt was born outside Philadelphia and fell in love with that city’s lively sports talk radio station around the same time he came down with the music bug. He didn’t quite figure out what to do with the latter until he moved to the Steel City, Pittsburgh, a place small enough to swim but large and strange enough to get properly lost. After what felt like a decade of time well-wasted at experimental, basement, rock shows he came to on a pyramid listening to Rhythm & Sound on a solo pilgrimage to Detroit. Since then, he’s been trying to combine the DIY spirit of those early days with the fascinating rhythms of the dancefloor. Matt currently works as a staff writer for Resident Advisor and throws the States of Being parties with his friends.
