dublab broadcasted live from the Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid from October 24th-28th. Our live “Siesta Sessions” beamed out to the world from each day during this first week of the first term of the 2011 academy. We featured dj sets and casual interviews with the participants, team members and lecturers who make this international music project so vibrant. Please explore the archives below to bring the RBMA experience to your speakers. For more transmissions from this epicenter of musical inspiration please visit RBMA Radio.

DAY 1: For our kick-off broadcast we played music from RBMA Madrid participants and take a video tour of the Matadero facility with Red Bull Music Academy co-founder Many Ameri.

DAY 2: Asma of NGUZUNGUZU and RBMA Team Member Seiji joined us for a big bassy jamdown and discussed their early impressions and experiences at Matadero Madrid.

DAY 3: We kicked off with a full blast dj set from participant Ghosts on Tape. This SF resident and Icee Hot crew founder gives us the sonic run up and down on the action that’s happening at RBMA. Addison Groove follows up fresh from giving a morning lecture and plays us some of the tunes that are making him buzz.

DAY 4: Our pal James Pants cruised into the studio to melt our minds with some of his most recent freaked-out finds. RBMA Madrid participant Julius Sylvest also joined us to blast his tropical dance party’s sounds to the world. Big Beats & Cumbia Ritmos explode in this super special broadcast!

DAY 5: For our final day of broadcasting from RBMA 2011 we extended our transmission time to pack more music action into the dublab “Siesta Sessions.” Tune in and enjoy a dj set from our LA homie Chico Sonido who was in Madrid to play at the RBMA presented Tormenta Tropical concert. Participant Raisa K then picked up the baton and played her original productions and community favorites. The show ended with an international bang as academy team member and Now-Again maestro Egon shared insight into the Zam-Rock scene.
