Oxy Live! with Paul Holdengräber and Laurie Anderson

Occidental College and LAist (89.3), the #1 NPR station in Southern California, will host groundbreaking avant-garde artist, musician, filmmaker and author Laurie Anderson on Wednesday, Apr. 10, at 7:00 p.m. in Occidental College’s Thorne Hall. Free tickets are available for this event at Oxy.edu/oxylive. This event closes the inaugural season of Occidental’s Oxy Live! Speaker Series.
Anderson, who received a 2024 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, is known for her experimental work across media; was NASA’s first artist-in-residence; and has shared her music at numerous global events, including several Olympic® Games. She has collaborated with Lou Reed, Brian Eno and Philip Glass, among others, and her visual art has been featured in The Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum in Washington D.C., the Musée d’art contemporain de Lyon in France and MASS MoCA.
Oxy Live! is a free conversation series, open to the public, that showcases a diverse lineup of cultural luminaries at the forefront of their fields. Each thought-provoking speaker’s event is hosted by acclaimed interviewer and cultural interlocutor Paul Holdengräber. Oxy Live! is made possible by a generous gift from Occidental College trustee and alumna Lisa Coscino ’85. Previous speakers have included artist and activist ALOK, writer Rebecca Solnit and visual artist Julie Mehretu.
