Ocean of Sound: Periphone — A Durational Sound Installation by Nina Keith

dublab and the Annenberg Community Beach House present Periphone, a Sound Installation by Nina Keith, as part of our third consecutive year of Ocean of Sound—an evening of restorative listening above and below the water. Lay back and lounge poolside, beneath the setting sun, or dive beneath the surface to experience our underwater speakers, resonating with live sonic contributions from Meg Duffy and Qur’an Shaheed.
Nina Keith is a multidisciplinary artist and composer from Philadelphia currently based in Los Angeles. Her work explores themes of death and groundlessness through music and sound art.
Meg Duffy is a guitar-focused musician, composer, and songwriter. They write and release songs as Hand Habits, play in Perfume Genius, and may have played guitar on a song you have heard. They hope to be a good friend, an open/curious listener, and unafraid of change.
Qur’an Shaheed is an experimental pianist, poet, singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA. Trained extensively in jazz, classical and contemporary music, her sound is innovative and personal, incorporating elements of improvisation as well as neo-classical and neo-soul techniques. Shaheed also composes film scores, focusing on projects that reflect on society, history and unifying acts. Her album Pulse, produced by Spencer Hartling, was released in 2025 on Leaving Records.
