Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles and MOO are proud to be hosting THE SERIES on the roof. Inspired by avant-garde social experiments of early surrealist theater, THE SERIES is a multi-disciplinary event created and curated by producer & performer Nicole Disson — pairing artists, dancers, musicians, poets, performers and other wildly creative humans to collaborate together on original, time-based pieces. Each live performance will have a printed component that offers guests an added element of participation, in addition to a fun takeaway art piece. And to top it off, our DUBLAB buds will be spinning tunes throughout the evening.

Performances by:
– Danielle Agami, choreographer and founder/artistic director of Ate9, an experimental contemporary dance company based in LA.
– Rebecca Halls, Canadian professional dancer, choreographer, yoga teacher and hula hoop artists based in LA.
– Comedian / writer, Tamara Yajia, referred to as “one of the funniest women on Twitter.”
– Ali Helnwein, Emmy winning composer.
– Lauren Brown, the tap-dancing drummer, and Rob Kolar, singer/songwriter/guitarist, who are together in life and in art as He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister.
– Fine artists and designer, Elena Stonaker and artist Sarah Buckley, who recently have teamed up to create artist salons around LA, where people may sign up to attend a sketch class, with Stonaker and Buckley as the subjects.
– Poet/Writer, Jacqueline Suskin known for Poem Store, the performance poetry piece where she composes one-of-a-kind poems on her manual typewriters.
– SERIES writer-in-resident and poet Mandy Kahn. Mandy is also the author of the poetry collection Math, Heaven, Time and coauthor, with Aaron Rose, of the nonfiction book Collage Culture: Examining the 21st Century’s Identity Crisis.
– Contemporary Theatre Director Zoe Aja Moore and Production Designer Liz Toonkle, who will be leading an ensemble of women under their alias ‘Brenda and Brenda.’
